Our Biblical Foundation
At Saint Johns Online Church, our beliefs are founded upon the Holy Bible, which we accept as the inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe the Bible is the final authority for faith, doctrine, and daily living.
Our teachings are centered on Jesus Christ and the truth of Scripture.
The Holy Bible
We believe the Holy Bible to be the true and inspired Word of God, written by men under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
📖 The Bible is completely trustworthy
📖 It contains God’s truth for all people
📖 It is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice

God
We believe there is one true and living God who exists eternally in three persons:
✝️ God the Father
✝️ God the Son (Jesus Christ)
✝️ God the Holy Spirit
God is holy, righteous, loving, and all-powerful. He is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Sustainer of all life.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.
✝️ He was born of a virgin
✝️ He lived a sinless life
✝️ He performed miracles
✝️ He died on the cross for the sins of mankind
✝️ He was buried
✝️ He rose again on the third day
✝️ He ascended into heaven
✝️ He will return again
We believe that salvation is made possible only through Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and is active in the world today.

The Holy Spirit lives within all who trust in Jesus Christ.
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift from God, offered freely to all people.
Salvation comes through:
✝️ Faith in Jesus Christ
🙏 Repentance from sin
❤️ Trust in God’s grace
We believe that no one can earn salvation by works, but it is received by faith.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Sin
We believe that all people have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.
Because of sin:
⚠️ Humanity is separated from God
⚠️ People need forgiveness
⚠️ Salvation through Christ is necessary
Only Jesus Christ can forgive sin and restore a relationship with God.
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ made up of all believers in Jesus Christ.
The purpose of the Church is to:

🌎 Share the Gospel with the world
We believe the Church exists both in physical gatherings and through online fellowship.
Baptism
We believe baptism is an act of obedience to God and a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ.
Baptism represents:
✝️ The death of the old life
✝️ Burial with Christ
✝️ Rising to new life in Him
While baptism is important, we believe salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ.
The Return of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will return again to earth.
🌅 His return will be visible and glorious
⚖️ He will judge the world
👑 He will establish His eternal kingdom
We believe believers should live in readiness for His return.
Heaven and Hell
We believe in the reality of both Heaven and Hell.
🌅 Heaven is the eternal home of believers
⚖️ Hell is the place of judgment for those who reject Christ
Every person will spend eternity in one of these places.
Eternal Life
We believe that all who trust in Jesus Christ receive eternal life.
This eternal life begins at salvation and continues forever in the presence of God.
